Tuning in to your Senses

Something I do daily is to mindfully engage myself in grounding techniques that require me to really tune into my senses. I do them a lot when I feel myself stressing out (at work, with family, driving, etc).
• Chew a piece of minty gum or sucking on a mint, tune into the flavor, feel your taste buds, texture, etc.
• Put on scented hand lotion, massage your hands/fingers, smell the lotion, again, be present in the moment.
• Play a favorite song, or keep a low volume of ‘lofi’ on in the background at work or at home (low beats with no lyrics)
• Be aware of the lighting around you (office, yard, bedroom)… try using fairy/string lights for softer lighting compared to bright bulbs in overhead lighting. Lighting significantly affects the atmosphere and vibes.
