Behavioral Support Solutions

In recent years, there has been a notable rise in challenging behaviors in students, including heightened aggression both verbally and physically, increased instances of elopement, and difficulty adhering to rules and expectations. In response to these challenges, Effective School Solutions (ESS) has developed a series of Behavioral Support Solutions.

ESS’s Behavioral Support Solutions provides a comprehensive suite of strategies and tools designed to effectively support underlying student mental health challenges and manage intense behaviors by blending innovative and evidence-based clinical and behavioral approaches.

Trauma-Attuned® Interventions

We offer trauma-attuned behavioral interventions tailored to the specific needs of each student, ensuring a safe and ethical approach that supports both academic and mental health stability.

Comprehensive Support and Collaboration

We provide comprehensive mental health and behavioral services, including in-classroom support, de-escalation interventions, and student crisis management. The program collaborates closely with the ESS/classroom multidisciplinary team to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Data-Driven and Individualized Plans

Our solution includes an in-depth clinical and behavioral analysis through data collection on frequency, intensity, and duration. This data is shared with interdisciplinary teams to craft individualized plans (if needed), ensuring targeted and effective support for each student.

Program Description

Support the Needs of Students with Intense Behavioral Challenges

Our behavioral support solutions incorporate trauma-attuned behavioral interventions designed to meet the specific needs of each student, ensuring a safe and ethical approach that supports both academic and mental health stability. We provide comprehensive clinical and behavioral analysis by observing and collecting data on frequency, intensity, and duration, which is then shared with students’ interdisciplinary teams to craft individualized plans if required.

Students receive assistance with daily school activities and benefit from expert guidance in de-escalation and crisis intervention when necessary. Our programs collaborate closely with the ESS/classroom multidisciplinary team to lead and support student activities and groups, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

ESS behavioral support solutions consist of the following elements

  • Robust mental health & behavioral services for students
  • In-classroom support & assistance
  • De-escalation interventions & crisis management
  • Functional analysis, behavioral tracking & interventions
  • Consultation on classroom design
  • Ongoing training & consulting for teachers

ESS offers ongoing support through progress monitoring and data-driven adjustments. By tracking student’s behavioral patterns and academic performance, we can make informed decisions that align with both their therapeutic and educational goals. This allows us to continuously adapt strategies, ensuring that behavioral interventions are not only effective but also evolving to meet the students’ changing needs throughout the school year.

Our programs also focus on collaboration with families, recognizing the role they play in a student’s success. ESS provides resources for parents and caregivers to help them reinforce the therapeutic approaches at home, creating a consistent and supportive environment. By involving families in the process, we ensure that students receive well-rounded care that goes beyond the classroom, promoting long-term mental health and academic resilience.

Classroom management protocols are developed and upheld with input from our experienced staff, ensuring a structured and effective learning atmosphere. Our program is integrated with the broader continuum of behavioral mental support services available within the school and the community, providing a holistic approach to student support.

ESS is making such a difference for our students and our district. ESS students are attending classes, getting involved in school and are now able to benefit from all that our district can provide.
